When something isn't going smoothly, I would suggest letting go for the time being.

Rather than being stubborn and getting yourself wound up, move onto something else and come back to it at a later date.

If it isn't going smoothly I believe that means that the time isn't right just now.
It is meant for another time.
Simply let go and move on, then come back to it another day.

When the time is right, everything will work out smoothly.
