It might be said that we all have  many negative experiences each day.

What really matters is how we respond to those negative experiences.

Some people may moan and groan and think that the world is conspiring against them. Others may just become  grumpy and frustrated.
And yet some people will use the experience as a catalyst for positive change.
They will see it as an opportunity and turn the experience around by doing something positive.

Let us take a simple example. Perhaps you catch a cold and have no energy and need to stay in bed.
You may think to yourself that you have got so much to do that you can't just stay in bed, and  become agitated and upset.
Or you could decide to read that book that has been on the shelf waiting for you to pick up one day.
You could write some letters or e-mails to friends and family.
You could write up your thoughts and ideas for your next holiday.
Simply put  if you don't resist,  and accept the situation by switching to thinking about what you can do rather than what you can't do,  a smile will come to your face.
It really is that simple.
Switch your thinking to only thinking about what you can achieve and don't dwell on what you can't do.
Turn a negative into a positive and smile.

Mindfulness
Thich Nhat Hanh

Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment.
It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present and at one with those around you and with what you are doing. We bring our body into harmony while we wash the dishes, drive the car or take our morning shower.
